When are tours available during the school day?
Tours are available anytime by appointment. Please visit the Visit St. Ambrose page to fill out a tour request form.
What test do you administer to prospective students?
Prospective students are asked to come in to complete reading and math sections of the NWEA.  The assessment is coordinated with the learning coordinator and prospective family.
What happens after I complete the entire application process?
After you complete the application process you will receive an e-mail from the Learning Coordinator setting up a testing time and date. When the test is completed and all paperwork has been reviewed, families will receive a call notifying you of your child’s acceptance or non-acceptance.
What are your school hours?
Pre-K-3rd grade hours are 7:45-3:00 M-Th and 3:00 dismissal on Friday
4th & 5th-grade hours are 7:45-3:10 M-Th and 3:00 dismissal on Friday
6th -8th-grade hours are 7:45-3:15 M-Th and 3:10 dismissal on Friday
We offer morning care from 7:00-7:30 am and aftercare until 6:00 pm.
Do the students wear uniforms. If so, where do I get them?
Students at St. Ambrose are required to wear uniforms. All uniforms are purchased through Flynn O’Hara. Each student must only wear uniform items sold at Flynn O’Hara.
What are your class sizes?
We have 1-2 classes per grade level and our maximum class sizes are:
Pre-K: 15 students with a full-time teacher and a full-time teacher aide
Kindergarten: 15 students with a full-time teacher and a full-time teacher aide
1st Grade: 15 with a full-time teacher and one teacher aide shared between both rooms
2nd-8th: 15 students max per class
Tell me about your ancillary classes or electives for students.
Pre-K -2nd grade participate in weekly Art, Spanish, Computer, Library,
Music, PE, and guidance classes.
3rd – 5th grade participates in weekly Art, Spanish, Computer, Library, Music, Band
PE, Art, and guidance classes.
6th -8th grade participate in weekly Spanish, Computer, Library, Art, Band, Electives, and
PE.
What type of standardized testing do your students annually take?

Our students take a nationally-normed test which is the IOWA test.
